Quilts For Resettled Refugees

A group of retired women support new refugees to Australia by gifting them handcrafted quilts and doona covers.

What began as a hobby has transformed into a fulfilling activity for Bible study group members. Gathering together, they diligently create bedding covers to extend a warm welcome to newcomers to Australia, assisting them in settling into their new lives.

The dedication and compassion these women pour into their handiwork embody the spirit of generosity found in Australian Christians. Their actions exemplify that retirement doesn’t equate to limited resources when it comes to caring for others.

These ladies eagerly employ their talents to positively impact the lives of those starting anew in the country. Their initiative serves as a reminder that each individual possesses unique gifts given by God.

“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.”
1 Peter 4:10
