"God saved us from one of the most brutal terrorist groups in the world. Then he gave us another gift: Philoi Global. Today, my children study and live happily without fear."

Exodus Fund draws inspiration from the story of the book of Exodus in the Bible.
After 430 years of exile, a nation was delivered and instructed to treat others with fairness, welcoming them into the community.
Guided by that example, we work to ensure that those resettled in a third country receive equal treatment under the law and the support they need to integrate and contribute to their new communities.
Exodus Fund supports persecuted Christians to find safe places to live when they can’t stay safely in the first country they escape to. Sometimes this means helping them move to a third country that is willing to welcome them and let them settle there permanently.
Only a very small number of the world’s refugees are able to be resettled this way, and many vulnerable people wait for years. Most refugees end up staying in nearby countries where support is limited. Because of this, resettlement is always a last resort for many persecuted Christians.
Our Approach
Our first goal is to help persecuted minorities stay safe in their own country whenever possible.
This might be done by helping them move to another part of the country, or by providing other forms of support. If staying in their country cannot keep them safe, we then try to help them move to a safer placed within their region.
If neither of these options can protect them, we look for humanitarian pathways to Australia or another safe country. When persecuted Christians are finally able to settle in a safe third country, they are supported and cared for by local churches that work with Philoi Global.
When Australia is not an option for these families, we partner with organisations in different countries who are able to assist them.
Several Afghan families who escaped from the Taliban (specifically targeted for their faith and ethnicity) after the takeover in 2021 have now resettled in Brazil, Canada, and the US. We were able to help Isaac* and his family come to Australia on a Humanitarian Visa in 2023.
“When we arrived in Australia, we were met with a warm welcome by them at the airport and they even gave us a place in their homes. They gave us spiritual help, and we thank God that we were introduced to such people.”
Today, Isaac* is working as a landscaper, his wife is learning English, and they have three children in school. Although they carry trauma from the camp with them, they say they find joy in their freedom to worship.
